Most people would consider this to be a rhetorical question but that depends upon whether or not they believe in a Divine God. Unbelievers think the universe just evolved with life and coming about all on its own power. If they only knew how complicated and sophisticated only one facet of existence was they would actually have to question how “nothing” could create such intelligence. That would mean that intelligence created itself and that would again lead back to an unseen and unknown force that created all of existence which would also lead back to a divine creator just not using the name we call God. But I will not argue with unbelievers because it would be akin to arguing with a fool because no matter what side you are on the argument both would be foolish. Neither side would give in to the other’s opinion. To those who refuse to believe in God let them have all the spaces they require to puff up and be themselves!
Now to those who believe in Divine God the answer to my title question “Does God have a hand in what is going on with the world that He created,” the answer would be a resounding YES! You need not take my word or opinion about this because the entire Holy Bible covers the consequences of mankind’s mishandling of God’s creation. It tells of the countless times when mankind was allowed to suffer because they disobeyed God’s rules and commandments. God sent many great prophets to warn and caution people of what would happen if they continued down a certain pathway and all the prophecies came true. There are some that have yet to happen but no one knows when that will be, not even the angels that reside with God in His heavenly abode.
What mortal beings do not quite understand is the extent of God’s almighty power. When everything that was made was made by God… there is nothing outside of His power in all of existence. Almighty power means above any and all things that exist. There is only One that sits on the top of the ALL and that would be GOD. So the simple answer to the question is YES God has a hand in what is happening now, what happened in the past, and what will happen in the future of mankind.
Though it might be hard for us to imagine God as a compassionate Father that cares about small things such as a rather insignificant human being. If God were so big and so powerful why would He care about people, definitely not a single person? The answer is because He made each individual as an object of His affection to love and to care for. The nature of our parenting instincts and how we care deeply for our young come from our likeness to God. He made us to be like Him in many aspects. Fortunately, parental care was born in our nature for the most part but it is not just human beings that possess that trait, most of the animal kingdom has that quality in their DNA. So just as we care about the things that belong to us, we got that likeness from our Creator. We care about the things that we consider belong to us. In an even higher way, God cares about all of creation because it all belongs to Him. He only granted us dominion over all things He made here on earth for our use.
If the Spirit of God lives in you then you would sense what God senses. You would love what God loves and you would detest what God detests. That would be because where the Spirit lives so does the full presence of the Almighty reside. God being Omnipotent can be in all things at all times and fully present as much as He desires to present Himself. So that means that God not only cares for the world He made, He is fully in every aspect of it as present as He desires to be and fully aware of how mankind is abusing the power that He entrusted to them caretakers of His planet. As a parent imagine how disappointed He must be with man’s disrespect for life, liberty, and being. Look at the total disregard for the planet, the natural resources, the other inhabitants of this planet; for the poor, the meek, the disabled, and those who have little. We were intended to care for one another and to be our brother and sister’s keeper. But do we care? Do we really care as God cares? We may claim to care with our lips but as you pass by a hungry person in the street do you just keep walking by as though it were just another helpless animal? WWJD?
Many believers would like to see God express His anger a bit more against the evildoers and those that totally disrespect the sanctity of God, but where would He draw the line? God is holy and certainly, we are not so should God express His anger against everyone alike who infract upon His rules? That would include all who are short of holy and that would leave none out. So again, where is a loving God to draw the line? Is one sin more egregious than another? Is stealing worse that rapping? Is lying worse than murder? Is adultery worse than immoral sex? Is gluttony worse that spitefulness? If God decided to punish mankind for all of his infractions against the holiness and righteousness of God there would be no one left on the planet to care for it. So what is a loving God to do with mankind who was made in the likeness of God to be like Him and to have dominion over the earth? Where would you draw the line if you were a god?
According to our Bible not only does God care about what is happening in the world that He made but He is also keeping a record of every single thing that is been done both for the good and the bad; and the evil. Every knee shall bow before Him and confess every single act, thought or deed that conflict with the holy righteousness of God. For those that seek His forgiveness from a contrite heart, they will be forgiven their sins as though they never happened. But without God’s grace, there will be consequences upon the immortal soul that has no cover from its Maker. God gave all mankind life and being so your soul and spirit belongs to Him. You are not your own, you did not create yourself. If you decide to use the free will that God granted you to express your disobedience and disrespect for Almighty God then good luck once your knees are bowed before Him.
As much as God loves His creation His patience abounds because only mankind is short of time while God has eternity to deal with us. You might see one single lifetime but God sees eternity. Eventually, your soul shall meet Him in that space. If that means nothing to you then eat, drink, and be merry for the day will come when you will stand before your Maker and atone for what you did with what He granted you. That is not a threat but a promise. It is not intended to frighten but to caution. As deep as God’s love is for mankind you really don’t want to see the other end that balances His grace and mercy. In all of existence, there is complete balance. One side supports the other.
Yes God so loves the world that He gave His only begotten son who being in very nature of God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to His advantage, rather, he made Himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. Take the message from the scripture and know how deeply God cares.
Philippians 2: 5-11
“In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:
Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death - even death on a cross!
Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
I couldn’t resist the temptation to quote one of my favorite passages of scripture here that tells the entire story. Just know for certain, every knee shall bow before the Christ, and then the decision will be made about your eternal place of residence.
I would say that God cares deeply about what is happening with the world that God made, but the question you should consider is if you care enough about your immortal soul. You might want to examine where you stand with Almighty God? To those who are unbelievers, God has a special place reserved for them so believers need not worry about them… their knees shall bow before God’s appointed Judge.
God cares about the world He made as much as he cares about you, one of His most cherished possessions… Selah!
