It is ironic watching people of high moral integrity trying to wage war against those who are immoral. The immoral cannot be shamed; they really don’t care what you think of them and there is nothing about them that fits into your way of thinking.
“Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? What harmony is there between Christ and Belial? Or what does a believer have in common with an unbeliever?” 2 Corinthians 6:14-15
Most people want to fight the wicked matching their tactics but unless you are immoral there are lines that you can’t cross in such a battle. If you use their practices you become like them, you become immoral as well. So if you serve Almighty God certain things are forbidden to you.
From the days of old throughout the history of mankind there have always been ruthless kings and leaders that treated their people unjustly. When God’s people are threatened by the wicked their cries reach up into the heavens and bend the ears of the Lord. There is nothing under the sun that escapes the attention of the Lord God almighty. He says very clearly in His written word, vengeance belongs to the Lord: Deuteronomy 32:35
"It is mine to avenge; I will repay.
In due time their foot will slip;
their day of disaster is near
and their doom rushes upon them.”
It is very common to seek revenge against wicked oppressors. We do not like bullies that abuse innocent people and appear to get away with their abuses. Although common, it is also mistrusting the One that called you out of darkness. You too were sinful and the Lord lifted you and forgave you of your sins.
“So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” 2 Corinthians 5:16-17
If you are indeed a new creation rebuilt in the likeness of Christ it is not your place to do what belongs to the Lord alone, for He will repay in due time that, which goes against His precepts. You of all people should realize that the Lord God always has a plan to draw His people back to Him and the tools He uses to accomplish that mission are at His election. Fear not and tarry not, their day of disaster is near and their doom rushes upon them by their own hands.
Be exceedingly glad that the Lord God has decided to expose wickedness in the hearts of the land. Those that support the ways of the wicked also becomes the enemy of the Lord and their days of reckoning are at hand. Why do you fret, says the Lord? Instead use your time to do the good that you see before you. Help the needy, the poor, the elders and the disenfranchised. Feed the hungry and comfort those who mourn. That is the work that has been charged to your care. You are to be the light of the world and through the children of God the world shall see the true living God.
“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven." Matthew 5: 14-16
This is the verdict: "Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.” - John 3: 19-21
So why do you worry? The Lord’s plan is at hand: You need not worry about the fate of the wicked for the die has already been cast. What is done is already done and nothing can change what has already started? Only the Lord God has power over all things and every knee will bow and make an accounting to Him alone.
So how do you defeat the D, just leave him alone. We serve a Mighty God! – Word!
